Wellbeing Information

At Meadowdale Academy, we understand the need for everyone in our school to have a healthy lifestyle. This helps pupils and staff to do their best and build on their achievements. We actively promote physical and emotional health, and aim to equip pupils with the understanding and skills they need to make informed decisions about their health, both now and in the future. By championing healthy eating, healthy lifestyles alongside and emotional health and wellbeing, we are aiming to equip pupils with the resilience and skills to meet the challenges of learning and life positively and successfully.

Wellbeing Award

We are currently in the process of aiming to achieve a whole school wellbeing award. This award focuses on ensuring effective practice and provision is in place that promotes the emotional wellbeing and mental health of the whole school community.

We aim to:

·         Show our commitment to promoting mental health as part of school life

·         Improve the emotional wellbeing of our whole school community (pupils, parents and staff)

·         Ensure mental health problems are identified early and appropriate support provided

·         Offer provision and interventions that matches the needs of its pupils and staff

·         Engage the whole school community in the importance of mental health awareness

·         Capture the views of parents, pupils and teachers on mental health issues

Illustrated below are details of some of the activities and projects that we have recently undertaken as a school in order to achieve healthier lifestyles for our staff and pupils. We have also posted links to useful health and wellbeing websites for your use and information.
